Natural Brazilian emerald – 4.80 ct – GRS certificate

Dimensions: 11.74 × 9.88 × 7.07 mm • Cut: Cushion • Minor oiling (oil only, no resin)

✨ Gemmological description

This natural emerald comes from the deposits of Brazil, a historic producing cradle whose finest stones rival the great classic origins. Its colour, graded intense to vivid green by the GRS laboratory, places it at the top of the chromatic spectrum sought after for this gem.

  • Species / variety: Beryl – Emerald

  • Weight: 4.80 carats

  • Dimensions: 11.74 × 9.88 × 7.07 mm

  • Colour: Intense to vivid green (GRS)

  • Cut: Cushion, brilliant/step faceting

  • Treatment: Minor oiling — CE(O): Minor, no resin detected

  • Origin: Brazil

  • Certificate: GRS Gemresearch Swisslab no. GRS2026-047504

The Swiss laboratory GRS notes in the appendix to its report that advanced analyses revealed only indications of oil-type oiling, with no resin whatsoever. Oiling graded as minor corresponds to a very limited intervention, a traditional practice accepted in the emerald trade — a level of treatment rare at this size, which reinforces the stone's value.

💎 Significance and positioning

With a weight of 4.80 carats, a colour certified intense to vivid and minor oiling attested by GRS, this emerald combines the three criteria that define rarity on the market. The generously proportioned cushion cut maximises the stone's presence while preserving the depth of its colour.

💍 Use in jewellery

This emerald is suited to:

  • an exceptional centre-stone ring

  • a high-jewellery pendant

  • a unique, bespoke piece

Settings in yellow gold, white gold or platinum are traditionally favoured to enhance the green hue while offering adequate protection to this gem, which is naturally sensitive to knocks.
