What makes a gem exceptional?
Three factors combined: substantial carat weight (rare in nature), a color of extraordinary intensity and purity, and the absence of treatment — a high-carat unheated sapphire is infinitely rarer than a treated stone. These gems are as much exceptional jewelry pieces as investment stones, whose value rests on their rarity.
