Pakistani Peridots: Two Exceptional Stones of 11.31 and 15.52 Carats
Peridot is one of the few gems to exist in a single colour: that luminous, almost oily yellow-green the Egyptians already called “the gem of the sun”. While small peridots are common, stones above 10 carats with a fine saturation are decidedly rare. We have just taken in two of them.
Two stones, two cuts, one deposit
The first weighs 11.31 carats, cut as a step octagon (13.15 × 12.11 × 8.73 mm) — an architectural cut that underlines the exceptional transparency of the material. The second reaches 15.52 carats in a cushion cut with a brilliant crown (15.56 × 13.41 × 9.26 mm), for maximum brilliance.
Both come from Pakistan, whose high-altitude deposits in the Kohistan valleys produce the purest peridots on the market, with that intense green saturation the historic deposits now barely supply.
A 100% natural gem
Peridot enjoys an advantage few gems can claim: it is never treated. No heating, no irradiation — the colour you see is exactly the one the earth produced. Both stones are GFCO certified (nos. AAP88099 and AAP88098).
For which project?
At these weights, a peridot becomes a spectacular centre stone for a cocktail ring or a pendant, while remaining far more accessible than an emerald of equivalent size. It is also the birthstone of the month of August.
